How to set up Airplay

Having problems connecting to an extra monitor/Tv? Well here is a simple guide on how to set up Airplay. It's easy once you know how!

While your iPad screen is sharp enough to provide you with a quality viewing experience on its own, you can also hook the device up to your TV set or another monitor and use it to watch video content, play games, and so on. Using the airplay function on your iPad, Apple TV can transmit your iPad's display directly to your TV screen, offering full HD video and sound. Setting up airplay for Apple TV is a simple process, so here's how it's done.

  • Using airplay via iPad is very easy. Firstly, you should check to ensure that both your Apple TV device and your iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

  • If everything is connected as it should be, then you'll notice that the airplay icon will pop up on your iPad.

  • To activate it, just select Apple TV from the menu. Your iPad display should then be mirrored on your chosen device.

  • Not all apps are airplay-enabled, although the majority of Apple apps and some third-party apps offer this particular function.

It's worth noting, of course, that there are other ways of hooking your iPad up to a TV screen or other monitor. Some users prefer to connect the two using HDMI or composite/component cables, but the Apple TV is probably the most hassle-free way of doing it (for one thing, it negates the need for fiddling about with any wires). Nevertheless, as you can see from this short guide, setting up airplay for Apple TV shouldn't take any more than a couple of minutes.
