Arranging apps on your iPad screen couldn't be much simpler. The most obvious difference between the iPad and the iPhone/iPod touch is that while the latter devices only allow you to include four icons in the loading dock, the iPad allows you to include six.

Adding and rearranging the various icons in the dock is a piece of cake. All you have to do is press and hold any icon and wait until it starts to jiggle. The jiggling indicates that you're then free to move the icon to wherever you see fit.

You can drag any individual icon from the home screen on to the loading dock. If you're happy with the placement of a particular icon, just let go of it with your finger and you'll find that it's now a part of your loading dock. In addition, removing icons from the dock is easy once you're done with them - just drag them off the dock.

When you've got your dock just the way you want it, all you have to do then is press the home button on your iPad to exit the screen.

You may also have wondered what those little crosses on the top left-hand corner of the icons are. Quite simply, pressing the X allows you to delete the app. You may have noticed that there are some icons which don't have the X at all.

This is because these particular apps are pre-installed on your iPad, and so can't be deleted.
