Having problems finding apps?

There are so many apps to choose from for your iPad that it might seem difficult to keep on top of them all.

There are so many apps to choose from for your iPad that it might seem difficult to keep on top of them all. Nevertheless, there are steps you can take to ensure that you keep all your apps reasonably well organised. Moving and organising iPad apps is reasonably easy once you know what to do, so here are a few suggestions you might want to bear in mind:

  • When you've downloaded an app from the store, it may be placed on a second screen, which you can access by swiping your finger across the iPad.
  • To move an iPad app icon, just hold it down with your finger until it starts to jiggle around. You can then start to move the icon simply by moving your finger. The app will continue to move for as long as you press your finger on the screen.
  • In order to move the icon to another screen, just slide your finger to the edge of the screen whilst keeping it pressed down on the icon. Keep your finger on the screen until you get to the black edge where the screen meets the black edge of the iPad, but don't move your finger on to that edge because your iPad won't recognise it.
  • When you're happy with where you've placed your iPad app icon, just lift your finger up and it should stay put. You can then press the home button to go back to the normal mode of operation.

You can also, if you so wish, create a folder of icons on the iPad screen.

  • Again, to create a folder the first think you'll need to do is hold your finger on a particular icon until it starts to jiggle.
  • Then, to create a folder move the app you're holding down on top of another app. That app will then be highlighted by a dark square. This means you can create a folder by lifting your finger and dropping the app on top of the other.
  • To add other icons to your folder, drag and drop other icons in the same manner.
