Clicking while you're typing.

It might sound like a rather minor gripe, but many iPad users get rather irritated by the keyboard clicking sound their device makes while they're typing.

It might sound like a rather minor gripe, but many iPad users get rather irritated by the keyboard clicking sound their device makes while they're typing. If this is something that's got on your nerves - or perhaps you're wary of it annoying other people - then you may well be relieved to hear that there's a relatively simple way of resolving this particular issue. In fact, all you need to do is take a few simple steps and hey presto! No more clicking. Here's how you can disable iPad typing audio.

  • Firstly, from the Home screen, tap the Settings icon. This will then bring up the relevant menu.
  • Once you've brought the General menu up, hit Sounds on the right-hand side of the screen.
  • Look through the Sounds menu until you find 'Keyboard Clicks'. It should be at the bottom. You'll find an on/off slider. Move the slider to the 'off' position.
  • Then, all you have to do is press the Home button again to go back to the main screen and you should be done.
  • It might be a good idea to then test your keyboard again to see whether the settings change has been successful. If it hasn't, go back and check the Sounds menu again - using the steps already highlighted - and check that you've moved the slider properly and that you haven't inadvertently moved it back to 'on'.

So there you go - that's really all there is to it!

Now you're free to type away without that annoying clicking sound irritating you or those around you.
